According to Dictionary.com, “Curriculum Vitae,” or “CV,” means “a brief account of a person's education, qualifications, and previous experience, typically sent with a job application.” Interestingly enough, CVs tend to actually be longer than resumes. The term “resume,” or “résumé,” is French for “summary,” hence the more brief presentation of one’s professional experiences, contrary to the aforementioned definition of CV. Geographically speaking, both terms tend to be used synonymously, in the United States; in most of the remaining developed world, however, you’ll almost exclusively hear “CV” being used more than “resume.” We decided to provide this lengthy response because, believe it or not, this is actually the most common question we receive, aside from pricing inquiries, because although both terms are used interchangeably, in the US, you will still likely hear “resume,” here, rather than “CV.”

All finalized resumes will be one page, as CV/resume pricing is based on original submissions that are no more than 2 pages, with no less than 10pt. font; the more pages you provide in the original submission, the higher pricing will be, due to the “cut-down” process that will be required. We do so to accommodate fast-paced recruiting and artificial intelligence (AI) usage within various employment industries.
