Who? Me?
Greetings!
Alright, so here’s the thing: you’ve landed on this page for a reason, and, chances are, you’re trying to get to know me. Interestingly enough, I, too, am trying to get to know you. So, to make this less awkward, I’ll go first.
My name is Altagrace [all-tuh-gray-s], and I’m a professional writer.
I've been writing for years, with my "claim to fame" having been my first official publication piece in the Miami Herald, in 2012. I'm a trained journalist, but my path gradually moved me away from the hard-hitting news bits, in favor of writing styles that allow for more creativity, uniqueness, and exploration.
In case you want to know the boring educational stuff, I have a Bachelor of Science in Communication, a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, and a Master of Science in Psychology, all from Florida International University. And yes, in the event that you were wondering about the psych stuff, I do also happen to be a licensed mental health counselor, so if you're interested in talking about how life makes you feel, that's a different website.
The name "Journalingua" was actually my original Twitter handle from 2014, which randomly popped into my head, when I was tirelessly trying to figure out how to make myself sound cool online. Since I'm technically a journalist and I love learning foreign languages (hence the translation services you may have noticed), the name seemed like a fitting "jeux des mots." If you’re now thinking, "OMG, you should totally trademark that name," you'd be correct. And I did. It's pending, so the US Patent and Trademark Office might side-eye you, if you decide to submit an application for it, FYI.
The entity of Journalingua came to fruition in late 2022, after having been hit up by friends for years to revamp their resumes, and then realizing that I could actually transform this into a marketable venture.
And here we are.
